  The princess brides

'' Last summer a princess got Free String Bass Hand Exercises Pdf Reviews Of Ppenile Enhancement Fiber Optic Rifle Scopes Hilton Hotel, Park Lane. Shakila Ali, 21, isn't a real princess but a primary-school teacher. Her Prince Charming is a pharmacist, but she'd been living the dream forever. 'When you're little, you just want that fairytale wedding,' she says. 'Every girl wants Luxery Resorts Of Florida be a princess, don't they?' And, gratifyingly for Shakila, on 4 August 2007 her wish finally came true (at a price Dentist Northern Virginia Top Rated 200,000, paid for by her father and five older brothers). Shakila was Cinderella for the day, wearing ivory silk, sugared with Vegetable And Fruit Carving and crystals. Her groom rode into the Hilton's ballroom on a white horse, and they sat on raised thrones, in front of a fountain 1large Designer Dog Clothes with 'dancing water' and a mist-shrouded pond, built out of MDF by the team at the wedding planners Siobh n Craven-Robins. Tables sparkled with Swarovski crystals, and the floor was fragrant with thousands of scattered rose petals. There were love doves, a harpist and a tiered cake complete with miniature fountain (plus gold running water). But even in fairytale weddings a little rain must fall. Shakila had wanted to arrive in the pink pumpkin Cinderella carriage that Katie Price graced so spectacularly when she married Peter Andre in 2005. But it was booked. So she had a Cinderella carriage made from ice instead. 'I'm Indian, but there was nothing Indian about this at all. It was completely an English fairytale wedding,' she enthuses. 'People say to me, "You could have bought a house with that money," but North Carolina Dogwood Flower comes and goes. I'll never get a day like that again.' Shakila's wedding is a reminder of just how powerful the princess allure can be. Girls grow out of Barbies but some are never too old, it seems, to want to be a girly girl and put on a tiara. And now, more than ever, the dream is within reach. Disney had already made a big push to get pink-tinted fantasy into little girls' lives by relaunching its assorted Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine and Ariel merchandise under the banner of the Princess range in 2000. This masterstroke generated raucous demand for all things princessy, from pencils to lip-balm; the market last year was worth more than 2 billion. So Disney is now aiming its princess products at women. You've heard of the bridezilla, the ultimate high-maintenance bride. Now get ready for a new breed, the princesszilla, in all her finery. Set to arrive in Britain this year, Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings is a bridal collection inspired by the Disney princesses. The range is already on sale in about 30 shops in America, as well as Israel, Ireland, Japan and Saudi Arabia, with prices ranging from 500 to 1,000 for a platinum-edition Cinderella gown. 'Our products have a lot of heritage, and a lot of the women who are marrying today grew up with the Snow White movies and the Cinderella movies,' explains Sandra van Vreedendaal, of Disney Consumer Products. 'Women who buy them are a real mixture - some just love the dresses, Longbow Paintball Special Ops they might love the princesses, or are die-hard Disney fans and want the whole package.' 'These women are average everyday women,' echoes Kirstie Kelly, the Disney bridalwear designer. 'It [Disney Fairytale Weddings] touches a part of their soul.' The dresses, she is keen to stress, are not direct copies of their cartoon inspirations - there is no chance to wear a hooped skirt or mermaid tail. 'I wanted to make sure the product wasn't costumey,' explains Kelly, pointing to the parade of ivory-white and light-gold empire lines and silk sheaths in the collection, 'that there was a real sense of personality and mood behind each princess.' Each princess has three code-numbered styles and is precisely targeted at a specific type of woman. 'Smart sophistication', for example, marks Princess Belle. 'She is typically very intelligent, either a doctor or lawyer, somewhat serious. She is not a girl who likes a lot of beading.' Unlike Cinderella - 'classic glamour' - who loves not only beading, but also chandelier earrings and traditional weddings in cathedrals. Ditto Sleeping Beauty - 'pretty romance' - who is fond of animals. Snow White - 'sweet elegance' - on the other hand, would wear Supplement Guaranteed To Give You Energy pastels, have her wedding planned by her mother and be least likely to embark on a doctorate in semiotics. Jasmine ('bohemian chic') and Ariel ('sultry allure') blaze a very different path. 'Jasmine's gowns are very flowing; chiffon and soft silk as opposed to satin. She knows her own mind,' says Kelly. Which is the best selling? 'J27 - Jasmine's. I was surprised by that,' she admits. 'I assumed it would be Cinderella. But a lot of women are paying for their own weddings and, when that happens, they start thinking about something more casual.'
